European Fiberglass Association completes product life cycle assessment

The European Fiberglass Producers Association recently released a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) report on continuous fiberglass products. The evaluation results show that for all products, most of the energy consumption, consumption of non-renewable resources, increase in greenhouse gas emissions, and acidification are all from the glass melting stage; in contrast to the production of downstream products required by users Processes (such as sizing, drawing and winding, chopping, etc.) play only a limited role in the LCA results.
