At 4:30 PM on October 27, 2010, Liu Xing, the creative director of the renowned Chinese women's fashion brand "Answer," hosted the Spring/Summer 2011 fashion concept conference at the first workshop of D-Park Fashion Club in Beijing. The event was inspired by the works of Joan Miró, aiming to reconnect people with their childhood innocence, rekindling memories of joy, passion, and love.
Liu Xing has always been fascinated by Miró’s art. He once said that seeing Miró’s paintings made him feel as if he had returned to his childhood—pure, simple, and full of happiness. As a child, he was drawn to the vibrant colors in Miró’s work. Back then, life was carefree, filled with laughter and play. There were no worries, no troubles—just pure joy.
As time passed, Liu realized that he had grown up, facing challenges and losing some of that innocent joy. It felt like he had forgotten what true happiness really meant. But when he revisited Miró’s paintings later in life, something changed. This connection between art and fashion was also evident during the 2008 Beijing International Fashion Week, when Liu Xing presented the “Answers†and “Wake Up†collections. The show, filled with authenticity, beauty, and goodness, moved many viewers to tears. It was clear that Liu Xing had always aimed to tell the most honest and beautiful stories through fashion, searching for the deeper meaning of life.
The Spring/Summer 2011 collection took inspiration from Miró’s art through a childlike perspective, blending his creativity with modern fashion.
