Smart jacket 2.0 is coming or can get rid of mobile phone control

According to CNET, a technology blog, the smart jacket jointly designed by Google and Levi's has just been on the market for about three weeks. The denim manufacturer is already doing product iteration and is working with Google to develop Smart Jacket 2.0.

On Tuesday, at the WSJD Technology Conference in Laguna Beach, Calif., Levi's CEO Chip Bergh said the two companies plan to add more features to the jacket, so users don't even need to pull out their phones to operate from start to finish.

It is understood that the smart jacket jointly designed by Google and Levi's integrates a multi-touch touch sensor for $350. The user can play/pause music, navigate, view text messages, etc. by sliding or tapping on the jacket cuffs. On the jacket cuff, the gesture sensor is embedded in a flexible tag that is wirelessly connected to the mobile device via microelectronics, which can be alerted by touch or light.

As part of a partnership with Google Project Jacquard, the latter incorporates touch technology into the fabric of the jacket and is compatible with Android and iOS platforms.

Chip Bergh revealed that at some point in the creation of the smart jacket, the sleeves of a jacket caught fire. Google likes this situation very much. He is excited to say: "This gives us a problem that needs to be solved."

Bergh also talked about the benefits of Levi's as a long-term supplier to Amazon. "They can attract the most attention," he said. “On the web, it’s important to focus on browsing.”

Levi's is also trying to lead some of his innovations on the Internet. The company recently launched a chat bot on its website as a virtual designer.
